Professor Dean Ta of the School of Information Science and Engineering was appointed as an adjunct professor at the University of Alberta, Canada

From December 2 to 10, 2016, Professor Dean Ta from the Department of Electronic Engineering, Fudan University, under the funding of the Walter Mackenzie Visiting Fund of the University of Alberta, Canada, conducted academic visits and exchanges with the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry of the University of Alberta.

On December 6, Professor Dean Ta's academic report was held in the Research Transition Facility conference room. Professor Lawrence Le of the University of Alberta first introduced his personal resume, academic achievements and the history of scientific research cooperation with the University of Alberta. Afterwards, Professor Dean gave an academic report entitled "A novel ultrasonic instrument and application in skeleton assessment" for teachers and students. The report introduced in detail the principles, methods, instruments and applications of bone ultrasound backscatter diagnosis, and had a lively discussion.

On the morning of December 7th, Professor Fedorak, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry of the University of Alberta, Professor Emery, Dean of the Department of Radiology and Diagnostic Imaging, etc. awarded Professor Dean a part-time professor appointment certificate and uniforms with his name.

The appointment of Professor Dean will further strengthen the cooperation between Fudan University and Alberta University, and will play an important role in the discipline construction, scientific research cooperation, and student training of both parties in the future.

The Medical Ultrasound Laboratory of the Department of Electronic Engineering of Fudan University and the research group of Professor Lawrence Le of the Department of Radiology and Diagnostic Imaging of the University of Alberta have cooperated for 10 years and have published more than 20 academic papers. Both parties have exchanged graduate students And nearly 20 visiting scholars.
