About the presenter:Professor Qin Yixian, full professor (tenured faculty) of the Department of Biomedical Engineering, Stony Brook University, State University of New York, and associate dean of the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences. In 1997, he received his Ph.D. from the State University of New York at Stony Brook and won the Outstanding Ph.D. President's Award. In 2009, he was awarded the honor of New York State INYSTAR Famous Professor. He is one of the founders of the Biomedical Engineering Department of Stony Brook University. Professor Qin's research work is mainly concentrated in the fields of musculoskeletal tissue engineering and regeneration and reconstruction biomedical engineering. Professor Qin’s research projects have received long-term funding from NIH, the US Department of Defense, NASA and NSBRI. Professor Qin is a member of the American Academy of Medical and Biological Engineering (AIMBE) and the International Academy of Astronautics (IAA). He has served as the Chairman of the International Chinese Society for Osteology and is currently the Chair of the Board. He is the associate editor of several international journals. He has published more than 100 papers in total, and has 8 publications in related fields such as tissue engineering and bone and biomedical engineering.
